Marie-Sophie Lockhart is a Brooklyn based Embroidery Artist. All of her creations are hand embroidered, one-of-a-kind and 100% original. Born in Paris, she began her fashion career on the sales floor of Colette. Fast forward to a few years later and Marie-Sophie lands in New York City.
Her love for the funky D.I.Y. styles of the 60's and 70's inspired her to create spirited folk designs with embroidery.
In 2015, Marie-Sophie launched Lockhart Embroidery, and began using her embroidery skill to create one-of-a-kind denim pieces. Her work caught the attention of Marc Jacobs, who asked her to create the hand embroidery for Marc Jacobs' Spring 2016 show. She has continued to work with them for their Runway and Ready-To-Wear collections for the past few seasons.
Marie-Sophie counts Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Barney's Japan as some of her valued clients, and has created unique embroidery for Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus. You can also find her pieces stocked at London boutique, Browns.
In addition to her work with luxury brands, Marie has collaborated with many premium fashion and lifestyle brands: Hopper goods, Stetson, Marley Natural, Cinoh, Soludos, and 3ina to name a few.
What began as a small hobby that she enjoyed from her home has evolved into a full-time profession, and her creations are now at the heart of psychedelic denim daydreams that lie somewhere between Paris, New York, and Kathmandu.
